I got these for a power outage and they're working great. I have some outside and some inside, all with some light exposure to the solar cell. The switch being inside the bulb housing is mildly inconvenient if you plan to turn them off and on frequently, but worth it so the units don't have to have a switch exposed to wind and rain. The outer glass is surprisingly thick and looks resilient. We've dropped one so far (about 4 feet to a wood floor) and it did not break.I hung these on my western facing porch in the Midwest. I got the white and multicolor packs and staggered them on twine. One white bulb has a loose wire or something and doesn't shine as bright as the others, sometimes not at all. One of the multicolored was missing the clip so I couldn't hang one of each (at least they are even, right?).They have some heft to them because they are glass. I was worried the wind would clink them around and my porch would have shattered glass all over but they really don't swing individually. I'm sure if my twine was looser, that might not be the same story. If it is a cloudy day, the bulbs will only glow for about an hour. Multiple cloudy days in a row will shorten that. But, on sunny days when they are in direct sun for about five hours and sunny conditions from afternoon to sunset, they will glow for 6-7 hours before they start fading.Even without them lit, they add great ambience to the porch.I just gotta say, I bought these lights awhile back and as much as I liked them I didn’t leave a review because, life. HOWEVER, these things literally made it through HURRICANE IAN!!! I didn’t lose a single one and they still work perfectly. I don’t leave them in the best spot for the sun to charge them but somehow they’re still kicking perfectly. Very happy with this product 10/10. I would like to see a storm that could wreck these things. My neighbor straight up us a hole in his roof and these things are still in mint condition. These lights are beautiful. Everyone that comes over comments about how cool they are. Just make sure that they get some sunlight during the day. They clip onto a branch from a tree, so they’re easy to install. If you don’t have any trees, that may be a problem. The only problem I have with them besides maybe not getting enough sunlight, is I did get a little glass sliver from them, Because they are crackled. BesidesThat, I highly recommend these. Just don’t slide your hand on them.Pros: crackled glass makes a pretty lighting effect; each bulb is individually clipped and the clips seem fairly strong; all bulbs came intact, none were broken; light gives a nice warm glow; bulbs aren't connected to each other by a cord or wire so you can put each one wherever you want; these don't feel cheaply made.Cons: you have to remove the cap/base on each one separately to turn the switch on/off which is super inconvenient (however if the switch was on the outside it may not have the same weatherproofing, so...); light isn't super bright - you won't be able to use these for much beyond just giving a nice glow unless you buy a lot of them (I have 12, and collectively the light is nice for being able to see where you're going but not enough to read); the bulbs are actual glass so they do have some weight.Love these, hung them on my awning valance. They are bright and long lasting. The thing is, I ordered 3 boxes. 1st box great, the globes lock into the top nice. But some of the globes in the next 2 boxes do not lock in, and a jostle of wind could have the globe come off and crash to the ground. It is because some of the globes lip that locks in is thinner than the others so they are not tight. I may return all the ones that are too loose to stay on. I hope this was a fluke and it is not because they started making all the globes thinner.Out of 12 lights one did not work. I wrote to complain and ask for one replacement but never heard back They are pretty at night. They have a clip to attach to a tree love them just wish I would have heard back about the one that didn’t work since this is a gift to something.the clasp does rust. yes the LIGHT is waterproof, but the holder does rust, the hinged clasp moves and breaks off. there are a dozen of these, i have 10 because two have gone to only the Lawd knows where due to the clasp being faulty and blowing away somewhere. it does look pretty on the bush out front.
